I wonder why the example could not have been written as:
String somenumber = (String) ((Thingie) object).getAttribute(”someNumber”)

Of course the TypeCache access would have to be hidden in the Thingie.getAttribute. (Such code in the example will no longer illustrate the point, of course.)

This trick fixes some shorts and will sometimes free the read write head up if its stuck. The 1 and 2 hour worked for me as well, but for a short time like Tristan and them. I’d be willing to bet the overnight freezer trick combined with the triple bag in ice would work fairly well. Id suggest at least 5 bags then a bag of dry ice while recovering data after an overnight freeze. I’m going to try it tonight I’ll let you all know how it turns out.

I’m having the same problem since about two weeks ago. Haven’t been able to pinpoint the problem yet, the cause doesn’t seem to be a plugin. (I deactivated the two that use wp-cron, activating one of them crashes the server, no matter which. It’s highly unlikely, that one of the plugins caused the problem.
