I'm very happy to discover Zenphoto, too. As nice as Gallery is, it always felt too big for my purposes. More importantly, now with all the lessons learned from all that came before, it's a great time to rethink an open source Web 2.0 gallery.

The fact ZENphoto is friendly with the file system and will create a new directory simply from a new folder of images added to the albums is a tremendous plus.

I'm taking a closer look at ZENphoto and seeing how to combine in Fotonotes image annotation (http://fotonotes.net).
