My very own car!
January 8th 2006
I finally got a car to drive!
And that’s not it! (Awww…) That’s my dad’s new car (a 2001 Audi A4 in beautiful condition… a really friggin awesome car that he deserves and will enjoy much more than I could, but only by a little) leaving me with his old one:
A 1991 Honda Accord wagon, also (believe it or not) in beautiful condition. We just got it detailed, and it got a new paint job a few months ago, so it’s looking great. Tomorrow it goes into the shop for maintennance (a new timing belt, among other things) so it’s all set for the trek up to Berkeley on Wednesday (yes, a zenphoto release is due before then).
I spent several hours cleaning it even after it got back from being cleaned (yeah, I’m a perfectionist) and my greatest accomplishment was fixing the cupholder, which was forever stuck in the out position until I came along. Now it does the cool smooth opening action when you press it.
It’s a good car, even with 180,000 miles on it. It should have about that much to go too if I take care of it. Gotta love those Hondas…

Nice looking car there Tristan, I have a ‘94 Honda Civic actually. They’re great cars.
Now, let’s race.
Yeah, it is pretty nice. And it would definitely beat your Civic–it’s got some pickup!
Now, the A4 would blow them both away… but we knew that already
eh, I am better my girlfriend’s Accrord could beat them both (excluding the A4) I am looking forward to two things, getting a car someday and the next zenPhoto release. Keep up the good work
Three words Fred– “My girlfriend’s Accord”
I don’t know Tristan, I’ve got the VTEC 1.6L Civic and it weighs almost nothing. If only you lived in the same country!
Though I think my Dad’s Holden Adventura (you guys don’t have ‘Holden’ over there, but you do have some of their cars) might give your Dad’s A4 a run for it’s money.
Anyway, enough of that… let’s just all agree that I win (joking :P).
Hope your doing well, mate.
Your car dad’s car looks brand new. He must take pride in his car. Hey, don’t worry, your car looks okay. Honda makes outstanding cars.
180,000 miles…wow. You have got to give us an update on how long that car lasts.
You may be able to squeeze another 40,000 miles out of it.
Levi–that’d definitely beat me.
Sounds like a nice car.
Steve–I could even get another 100k out of it.
So says the mechanic anyway. They’re pretty darned well made.
