Another Teaser
September 12th 2005
Needless to say, school has started and like I knew all along, development on ZP has slowed. I swear I want to get this first release out soon, but I just can’t make promises anymore. I have so many other things which are so unfortunately more important.
That said, I have tomorrow off, so maybe I’ll finish it all.
I have made several updates, including the ability to select the thumbnail for the album from its images, with a preview in 100% CSS-styled listbox goodness. The preview doesn’t work in Internet Explorer, but frankly, neither should you.
Also included are all sorts of updates to the admin control panel from Joen which I forgot to include in the last version.
Note: You may have to delete the zenphoto cookie from trisweb.com to log in, since I changed the cookie to remember multiple logins on multiple ZP installs on the same domain (a good thing ;-)). To do this in Firefox, go to Tools»Options»Privacy and find the “View Cookies” button. It’s actually harder to figure out in Firefox 1.5 beta, but about the same.
Update: I didn’t realize how much I would like being able to set the album thumbnail. I find it produces a much better-looking album index.

Fantastic work! The thumbnail selector is very nifty although it took me a few seconds too many to figure out you had to click on it for the menu to appear. I do hope to see a release coming up soon!
Beautiful!
I’ve been using 0.5 for my Wallpaper section for a few days now, and I’m loving it already. In my opinion, it’s so stable that you should focus tomorrow on flicking together a good installscript, and then release it as a 1.0 PR.
A few comments
What youre seeing there is an actual directory name of the actual directory where the images are stored. Any valid directory will work, even if it has spaces. I usually convert spaces to + which is the same in URL encoding but looks better.
When you upload via the web, I try to suggest a folder name with dashes ala wordpress clean urls.
But I wont restrict people to using whatever directory names they want. Its your choice if you dont want caps or spaces. Personally, I like using english directory names because when you upload via FTP, that becomes the albums initial title.
So thats my logic. Hope that explains everything.Seems perfectly reasonable to me.
I just wana get my hands on ZP already, I don’t care how stable it is, I wana play!
Oh c’mon with the previews already, it looks fine to me, lets get this show on the run dangit
Realy good!
