Sonic Boom

About 18 minutes ago, Southern California was rocked by an unfamiliar double sonic boom, indicating shuttle re-entry to land at Edwards Air Force Base. Everything went fine, and the shuttle crew is now safely back on earth.
Now, most people, including myself, forgot this. So thank you, NASA, for having the quickest news I’ve ever seen on any site ever. I literally heard the sonic boom, got scared that LA was nuked for 12 seconds, realized what it was, went to NASA’s site, and there was a picture of the shuttle landing (albeit probably not this shuttle, but still), and a succesful landing blurb. I mean, the thing was practically still in the air!
Kudos to the NASA web team. Unless, of course, it was all pre-canned and they were just really confident that they didn’t even have to wait, in which case, kudos to NASA.
