This is the official announcement for the start of development of zenphoto, a new, better, simpler, more useful, open-sourced, and overhyped personal web photo album app.

Read the full announcement and preliminary specifications (PDF, 63k).

Keep in mind that I’m very open to comments — I’m building this for you, so I want your ideas and feedback!

Looks great, exactly what I am looking for. I added your feed to my list so I can track your progress and answer questions if you run into problems. I am a PHP developer by day and I’d like to help out when it’s needed.

Wow.

When you say you’re gonna do something you really go all out.

I especially like the resize image based on link construction bit (album/width/image…). That’s just an awesome idea. When you get to the bug testing stage you know where to find me. I’m really good at breaking things.

Great!

Zenphoto provides all the features i’ve been looking for my photography portfolio.

I specially like the comments enable feature and integration with, for exemple, wordpress.

The resize feature is great too

I hope that the development of zenphotos won’t get any major problems. I would like to help too.. but i’m not a very good PHP programmer.. lol. Though i can still give some feedback.
