Google is Down…

May 7th 2005

What do I do? I’ve never felt so… lost….

Okay, it’s not that big a deal. Except that it kind of is. It seems to be a DNS problem (but, inconveniently, all over the world as I’ve verified from several shell accounts). That kind of sucks for them.

In the meantime, I would reccomend a9.com, which is supposedly based off google (which is why its image results are broken, I presume) or… dare I say… search.msn.com. Just kidding.

Have no fear — looking across the bay, I see no signs of a nuclear attack on the city of Mountain View, so I assume it’ll be back soon. Until then, maybe this is just google’s way of saying “It’s a beautiful day here in the bay area. Go outside!” Because it is.

I noticed it was down as well. Crazy.

It’s amazing how our lives stop while google fixes it’s servers. haha. No, the world goes on. I hear yahoo is giving Google a run for it’s money. Don’t know if that’s true or not, but I wouldn’t think google’s reign would be in danger any time soon.

As a person on the other side of the globe, I only notice things when they’re fixed.

Still, it had to happen sometime didn’t it ? Force majeure!
